While I greatly respect Mr. Paine’s point of view relative to the important historical socioeconomic and geopolitical challenges of his era, we live in our own own era…so-called “modern times” … with our own unique socioeconomic and geopolitical challenges. There is wide-spread disillusionment with where western materialist culture has brought us, and most of our fellow citizens are to various degrees unconscious of  how and why we ended up here. This blog explores the multi-faceted cultural, political, technological and economic processes and realities of our own era. I freely admit to being a post-enlightenment secular, non-religious, non-dogmatic, scientifically biased, politically unaffiliated but progressive free-thinker, shaped by the very western cultural influences of the second half of the 20th century and first decade of the 21st century,  of which I will offer unmitigated critique to attempt to generously enlarge the reader’s views beyond the present day.
